Filter Optix Glasses

We offer four different lens colours with superior blue light blocking technology and properties. All four colours help reduce stress and cortisol levels while boosting your mood and increasing melatonin levels at night! Our Red glasses have the strongest blue light filter, while our Clear computer glasses have the lightest blue light filter but still ensuring great health benefits.

Filter Optix Computer Glasses

Our Clear computer glasses filter out the entire blue light spectrum (400-495 nm) emitted from digital devices, screens, and LED lights by 35%.
They reduce digital eye strain and lower stress, as well as improve your circadian rhythm and sleep to some degree.

Filter Optix Yellow Glasses

Our Yellow blue light glasses block 100% of all blue light up to 470 nm, eliminating the most harmful artificial blue light to best protect your eyes and inducing relaxation.
They will have a stronger effect than the Clear computer glasses, boosting your mood, reducing stress, and increasing melatonin production at night.

Filter Optix Orange Glasses

Our Orange blue light glasses block 100% of all blue light, and all green light up to 520 nm, preventing artificial blue light from stimulating you and ruining your sleep.
They will have a stronger effect than the Yellow glasses, further increasing melatonin levels and improving your circadian rhythm and sleep quality.

Filter Optix Red Glasses

Our Red blue light glasses block 100% of all blue light, and all green light up to 550 nm, optimising your sleep quality by eliminating all stimulating artificial light at night.
They will have an even stronger effect than the Orange glasses, optimising melatonin levels and improving your circadian rhythm and sleep quality.

The glasses are available in non-prescription, prescription and reading glasses. Shop Filter Optix Glasses here.

Yes, all our glasses have an advanced multilayer coating with the following properties:

- Blue light blocking
- Anti-reflection (AR coating that reduces light reflection on both lens sides)
- Super-hydrophobic (repels water and prevents moisture and fogging)
- Grease resistant (easy to clean smudges and oils)
- Anti-static (repels dust, dirt and other particles)
- Scratch resistant (hard coating that improves durability and protects against scratches)

We want to accommodate all settings and individual preferences regarding aesthetics. Different activities may require different lens colours depending on the amount of blue light protection or colour visibility that is needed.

Natural blue light is present during daytime, but it decreases rapidly at sunset before it disappears so choosing the most suitable glasses for the right time matters. Blocking all artificial blue light during daytime is not necessary as blue light is naturally present from the sun. Our Clear and Yellow glasses are therefore well suited for daytime use, as they allow some of the blue light through while filtering out the most harmful artificial light, protecting your eyes, circadian rhythm and health.

Our Orange and Red glasses have a stronger blue light filter compared to the Clear and Yellow glasses, as they effectively filter out 100% of all blue light. For more optimal sleep and health, our Orange and Red glasses are therefore the best choice for blocking blue light at night, as the only blue light present during this time is the artificial light from our digital devices, screens and LEDs.

We don’t recommend using the Orange and Red glasses during the daytime, as they are intended to be worn after dark or at night-time only for improved circadian rhythm and sleep. We also don’t recommend using these glasses when driving.

Some people don't want to or can’t wear Red or Orange glasses after dark due to different circumstances. In this case, it's still beneficial to wear the Clear or Yellow glasses for some blue light protection and health benefits.

Choosing Between Clear and Yellow

If you want minimal colour distortion or the lens colour to be invisible to others while still getting blue light protection all day and night, our Clear computer glasses are the right choice for you. They offer 100% UV protection and can therefore be safely worn outdoors as well. They eliminate glare and filter out 35% of the blue light emitted from screens and artificial lights, reducing digital eye strain and improving your health.

Our Yellow glasses will have a stronger filter, eliminating 100% of the most harmful artificial blue light, which boosts your mood while reducing stress. If you want the most optimal blue light protection during the day, the Yellow glasses are the right choice for you.

Choosing Between Orange and Red

Our Orange glasses will improve your sleep quality and give you numerous health benefits, by blocking 100% of all artificial blue light. They will reduce stress and cortisol levels while boosting your mood and increasing your melatonin levels at night. If you want better sleep and health, the Orange glasses are the right choice for you.

Our Red glasses offer the greatest health benefits, as green light is eliminated as well, and might be the best choice for you if you don’t mind increased colour distortion. These glasses have the most sedative effect due to higher melatonin release, resulting in the most optimal sleep. If you are seriously crazy about optimising your health and performance, the Red glasses are the right choice for you.

Yes, we certainly do. We offer prescription glasses (Rx) for all the different blue light glasses, in all frames and lens colour combinations.

We are able to provide a wide range of spherical power (SPH) and cylindrical power (CYL) to accommodate people with stronger prescriptions. Single vision prescriptions with sphere (SPH) values between -10.00 and +10.00 and cylinder (CYL) values up to +/-4.00 are available for all frames and lens colour combinations. If you have prescriptions outside of these ranges, please feel free to contact us as we may be able to help you!

We also offer progressive (multi-focal) glasses.

For all prescription types you can choose between three high quality lens materials: standard CR-39 (index 1.50), high index 1.60 and high index 1.67. Higher index means a thinner and lighter lens, which may especially be favourable for those with stronger prescriptions.

For prescriptions with a spherical value (SPH) higher than +/-2.00 we generally recommend 1.60 index, while for SPH stronger than +/-4.00 we recommend 1.67 index, but you are free to choose the standard CR-39 even with stronger prescription.

For reading glasses (readers) we offer magnification with powers between +0.25 and +4.00.

Non-prescription (non-Rx) glasses are also available and may be a good alternative for people who use contact lenses or who don’t require prescription.

You can select between non-prescription, prescription and readers on the product pages. If you select prescription, a prescription menu will appear.

When ordering Filter Optix prescription glasses you will need your prescription, either by entering the prescription details yourself or sending it to us later. Please ensure that the pupillary distance (PD) is included in your prescription papers. If not, try to call your optical provider or visit an optical shop to get it measured. If this is not possible, we will be happy to assist you.

In the prescription menu you can choose to enter either one PD value that applies to both eyes (Single PD) or two PD values – one PD value for each eye (Dual PD). Note that PD is different for distance glasses and reading glasses. There are also free apps that you can use to calculate your PD, such as "EyeMeasure", which is available for both iOS and Android and is easy to use. For distance glasses, "Far PD" will be the correct PD, while for reading glasses, use "Near PD". Round up or down to the nearest half millimetre (mm).

If you have columns in your prescription papers that are empty or have the value ‘0’ or ‘NONE’, you don’t need to fill inn these values. In our prescription menu, SPH and CYL are set equal to 0.00 by default, while AXIS and ADD are set to N/A.

To ensure proper fit you could measure your favourite pair of glasses and compare with our frames sizes (listed below). Also, if you send us a photo of yourself to support@filteroptix.com we could help you deciding the best fitting pair of eyewear for you!

Frames sizes/dimensions:

Acero
47-23-145 (narrow/medium)

Cedar
51-19-142 (medium)

Mesi
49-21-145 (medium)

Sage
50-19-145 (medium)

Ventus
49-21-145 (medium)

Yama

Please note that sizing also comes down to personal style and preferences, but the medium sized frames offer the correct fit for the majority of people. If not, you can easily return your order to us or have your local optical shop to do some minor adjustments of the frames to make them fit you perfectly (see next FAQ below).

You can take them to your local optician or optical shop for adjusting the glasses to your face. They will normally do these minor adjustments for free, or for a nominal fee.

We offer a 30-day return policy after you have received your glasses. You can always return the glasses to us according to our Returns & Warranties policy.

Each pair of Filter Optix glasses come in a designer box with a case and a cloth inside.

We recommend that you use the case, to avoid damage, whenever bringing your glasses with you or for safe storage. Our frames are made of high-quality acetate and metal, and our lenses are made of premium CR-39 material, so please take proper care of your Filter Optix glasses!

Cleaning Filter Optix glasses:

Our lens coating makes it very easy to remove smudges, dirt, dust, or other particles from the lenses. The provided cloth works great for cleaning the glasses.

For a proper cleaning of your Filter Optix glasses follow these quick and simple steps:

1. First make sure that your hands are clean. Then rinse your glasses with some (lukewarm) water to remove any dust or dirt. Avoid using hot water.

2. Use a tiny amount, or a small drop, of a mild lotion-free or neutral soap, and apply gently to both sides of the lenses.

3. Rinse with water again, thoroughly, to remove any residual soap.

4. Carefully dry and wipe clean the lenses and the frame with the provided cloth. You may also use any clean and soft lint-free towels such as a microfiber cleaning cloth.

Please avoid using hot water, any alcohol-based cleaning products or household cleaners containing chemicals on the glasses. Both extreme heat and chemical solvents may damage the lenses and negatively impact the coating.

Also, avoid using the glasses in extreme heat conditions such as the sauna or exposure to direct sunlight for an extended period of time.
